Water Mist Systems

Before After

Ritestand specialize in developing and implementing RotorMist technology, creating specialized mist nozzles that produce mist droplets ranging in size from a few microns to several microns.   Our RotorMist technology consists of two types of pre-engineered systems – Localized Suppression Systems (LSS) and Vehicle Suppression Systems (VSS).

The RotorMist technology employs an intermediate-pressure single-fluid system, utilizing a mixture of water and gas delivered through a single pipeline. This innovative system uses pressurized water and gas to produce a fine water mist, with water droplet sizes ranging from 55 to 100 µm. The distinctive features of the RotorMist system are achieved through the specialized design of nozzles and rotors installed within cylinders.  This innovative RotorMist technology has gained popularity due to its effectiveness, versatility, and environmentally friendly characteristics.

The specialized nozzles generate mist with varying droplet sizes. Larger droplets, with their high kinetic energy, can effectively reach the fire source, while smaller droplets rapidly absorb heat and evaporate into water vapor. Different types and sizes of nozzles are tailored to produce mist with specific parameters, allowing us to select the most suitable nozzle type and water pressure levels for different market applications.

Key attributes of Water Mist technology include:

  • Fine Water Droplets: RotorMist systems produce tiny water droplets, typically ranging from 55 to 75 µm in size, greatly increasing the surface area of water exposed to the fire.
  • Rapid Heat Absorption: The fine mist quickly absorbs heat from the fire, lowering temperatures and preventing flames from spreading.
  • Oxygen Reduction: RotorMist systems displace oxygen around the fire, reducing the oxygen available for combustion and aiding in fire suppression.
  • Versatility Across Fire Classes: RotorMist technology is effective against various types of fires, including Class A (ordinary combustibles), Class B (flammable liquids), and certain Class C (electrical) fires.
  • Water Efficiency: Compared to traditional sprinkler systems, RotorMist systems use less water while achieving comparable or superior fire suppression results, minimizing water damage and runoff.
  • Residue: RotorMist leaves behind no residue after suppression, simplifying cleanup efforts and minimizing damage to property and equipment.
  • Environmental Benefits: RotorMist systems are non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
